Thank you soooo much for all the comments! I feel like everyone really cares about what's happening with our baby, and that is just awesome.
Dexter and I haven't decided on a name yet, but we've been calling him August, or "Auggy" (not sure how to spell that yet!). We both really love that name. It's actually a funny story how that name came to be.... a couple years ago Dexter and I were talking in his car about kid names, and he told me that he would want to name his kids August and Daphne. Well, Daphne was totally out for me, but August really grew on me. I told him if we ever had a boy, we'd name him August! Totally joking at the time, but now it might really happen! Ha ha.
I really like Hayden August Merschbrock, and then have everyone call him by his middle name. I'm not sure why I like that idea so much. It just seems like if he ever grew out of Auggy or August and wanted to be more "professional", he could go by his first name. I'll have to process this a little longer. Also, Hayden August would make his initials HAM, and that's not very cool. Mia Hamm is cool, I suppose, but American soccer isn't the best. And he's not a woman. (Dexter just called ME a ham!)
July 13th is our next appointment. I beleive we will get another ultrasound then, but I'm not sure. Here are pictures I took of the ultrasound on June 15. They're not great quality. Dr. Will's pointed out where exactly his little boy parts are so that we could be sure we are having a BOY! So that's what the arrows are for. There are two different pictures. The second picture is an aerial view.
Today is Auggy's first rain storm. Yes, it's actually raining in Vegas today! I ruined my pants walking into PetSmart due to it, but it's all good. I've had three consecutive days off from work. It has been so nice. Dexter and I took advantage of a 15 dollar week deal at Blockbuster where you can rent out 1 movie and 1 game at a time, as many times as you want for a week. I've been in bed watching seasons 1 & 2 of Weeds. It's a good show, but kind of a downer. I hope nothing like that ever happens to me or Dex! OK, I've blogged enough... Everyone have a great week and thank you again for your support!
xoxo M

granted, it has been a long time since i named a baby, but back then it was thought that a baby with initials that spelled a word would be successful in life. neither of my kids' initials spell anything, but they seem to be turning out okay. aunt carla
ReplyDeleteI like Hayden August Merschbrock, it sounds like a good strong name to me. Of course we will love him no matter what you decide. Thanks for the update! Aunt Lori
ReplyDeleteGrandma Shelley still likes August too. Remember Dexter's initials are DAM. I'm not sure if everyone would agree that he turned out OK but we think so.
