Today was a nice day off. Dexter and I visited Kaily to wish her a happy belated first birthday. I cannot believe she is one already! She's standing, walking (almost completely by herself!), and just seems to have so much fun. :) I can't wait for her and August to meet.
The other reason I'm writing today is to say...
THANK YOU!
We want to thank everyone SO MUCH already for helping us and August. You have given him a great start and he's not even here yet.
I am completely overwhelmed right now. I believe the term for what I'm going through is "nesting". I've packed our hospital bags, gotten the nursery ready for August's first day home, am in the middle of washing, folding, and hanging his newborn clothes/bibs/hats/socks, and so much more. I feel like it will never be done, that I will never be ready for him to come home. But the truth is that we have a crib, clothes, food and a car seat, so if he came home tomorrow we'd be ready.
There are a few things we have more than plenty of. Those things are newborn onesies, teething toys, newborn diapers, baby oil, baby shampoo, baby lotion, and nursing pads (seriously-- if you need any nursing pads, come to our house!). I've updated our registry with everything else we need and do not yet have.
