August John Landon

Since the boys are napping, I thought I'd take time to let everyone know how the delivery went and how things are going now.

August John Landon was born at 6:11pm on October 16, 2009. He weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 20 1/2 inches long. He has blond hair and his eye color is currently a very dark gray. Words cannot describe how much Dexter and I love him! He is a great baby. He is feeding very well and only cries when he is hungry, wet, or wants mommy or daddy to hold him.

The labor was great. We checked into the hospital around 12:15pm. I was hooked up to an IV of pitocin around 12:30pm. A couple hours later I was given an epidural, which actually hurt less than the pitocin, and after that point I was in very little pain. I began to feel pressure around 5:45pm. Dr. Wells was called in and arrived around 6:00pm. After 10 short minutes of pushing, August was born at 6:11pm! I only had a little bit of tearing.. couldn't have hoped for a better labor.

We delivered at St. Rose De Lima - and wow! Are we glad we did! The nurses there are completely amazing. Our family was discharged around 10:00pm the next day, October 17, 2009. That first night at home was pretty hard due to our severe lack of sleep, but we made it. It is still hard - managing sleep, time, feedings (every 2 hours!!), cleaning, eating, etc... but I am loving every minute of it and couldn't ask for a better family.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us and sent prayers and love! We love you all so much, and cannot wait to see everyone.
