I'm super excited to have this blog to talk about pregnancy stuff... I created it to reach out to our family and friends who live all over this wide country. Let me know if you're reading! You can e-mail me at mmkuhn72@gmail.com... I'd love to get everyone's phone number and address (even if we're not super close, or you live right here in Nevada!) so that we can keep in better contact.

My family practitioner called me today to check up on things. You may know that I'm kind of weird (ha, ha), but what you probably don't know is that I have a lot of Asperger traits that affect my life. It's really awesome to have a doctor who cares enough to call and not only ask how I'm doing, but give me information on how to cope with aspie while pregnant and what to do to take care of myself and the baby.

On to other things... the first three months are over, which is great because that means I'm in my second trimester. However, it makes me nervous! All of the important brain developments supposedly happen in the first trimester. Every day I learn new things about how to take care of myself and wish that I had known all of these things before. Who knows what difference it would have made? What if I did something seriously wrong and won't know until the birth??? The prenatal vitamins were harder to keep down in the first three months, so I'm not sure how much of it actually got to my body and baby. I wish someone could tell me that they went through the same thing and everything turned out OK.

Overall though, I'm pretty optimistic. The vitamins are much easier to hold down now and everything is going smoothly. Dexter, Nate, Blake, and I are going to be moving into a house together next month... we'll know by the end of this week if we get the house we want! It's three bedroom; Dex and I would get the master; and has a beautiful backyard with a dog door for Kira. Life is GOOD.

xoxo M

  1. i'm so glad you have such a great doctor! don't worry about those first 3 months. there are some women who cannot ever keep down prenatals, so what you're doing now is great. your baby will be perfect. thanks for writing the blog!

  3. Dexter and Michelle -- Hello and Congratulations from Louisiana! (Michelle, I am Dexter's Aunt Carla -- the youngest of his aunts on his dad's side.) I remember the excitement Steven and I shared when we found out that we were expecting. Enjoy every minute because, before you know it, your baby is born and they start growing. I, too, worried through my first pregnancy. I had to take my vitamins at bedtime because I couldn't keep them down in the morning. I was sick for five full months -- then, all at once, I was fine. And the best news, Caitlyn was pretty much a perfect baby!
Take care and we'll check back for updates. Aunt Carla and Uncle Steven
