Saw Dr. Wells today! My belly got measured and we heard the baby’s heartbeat. Obviously my tummy has grown quite a bit and Auggy’s heartbeat is much louder now. Everything is going great!

We plan to deliver at St. Rose Dominican hospital. Conveniently located 3 minutes from home and work. Three months seem sooooo short… but at the same time, I wish he was here already and that makes the wait seem longer. I am getting more and more nervous for the delivery! Jackie sent us an awesome package with some stuff that will make the hospital stay so much nicer… and mom has been AMAZING with finding necessities for us.

This week Auggy is almost two pounds and 14 1/2 inches long. His brain is developing rapidly and he can sense light, hiccup, and take breaths! He may also be able to recognize mind and Dexter's voices, so we read to him every night.

EDIT 07.17.09: Our next appointment is July 27. I received a bottle of fruit punch mix (I wanted orange, but they were out!) to take one hour before the appointment. They're testing me for diabetes. I feel that if I had diabetes, I'd have gained a lot more weight, but we'll see! Also... my stomach is getting pretty darn big. You can pretty much see August every time he moves, rolls around, punches and kicks in there. It's pretty amazing, but I feel like customers at work are looking at my tummy wondering why it's moving like that! Haha. One more thing: The due date is October 12, and I requested my maternity leave starting October 10. Does anyone have experience on maternity leave? I'm worried it's going to either be too soon or too late. I don't want to work up until the day I go into labor, but I also don't want to be sitting at home for two weeks before his arrival. Let me know! Thanks!
